Abstract:
The mass of the Higgs boson discovered at the LHC has been measured around 125.6 GeV. We discuss the implications of the measurement in the context of the Standard Model (SM), where the Higgs boson mass is a free parameter. Within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) the Higgs boson mass is a prediction of other model parameters. Consequently, the measurement interpreted in this model presents a profound test with many consequences. New theory predictions and their implications are analyzed.
